Folly made of fragments from Burton Abbey, off Newton Road, Newton Solney, a 19th century structure. From the National Heritage List for England: 'PARISH OF NEWTON SOLNEY NEWTON ROAD SK 22 NE 1/59 (South Side) 19-1-67 Folly made up from fragments of Burton Abbey (formerly listed as Remains of Burton Abbey re-erected in Newton Park) II Folly. Re-used medieval masonry from Burton Abbey and C19. Coursed squared sandstone and sandstone ashlar. Irregular rectangular plan, with a wall extending from one corner. Plain pointed arch on three sides of a square tower-like structure said to have been the 'porter's lodge'. Unmoulded arches. Arrow slit on the fourth side. At the north east angle is a diagonal buttress with two set-offs. Piece of walling to north west with a half arch corbelled out to east. Built as a garden ornament to Newton Park.
