Alcove and wall north of Owlcotes Farm, Shire Lane, Heath and Holmewood, of late 16th century date. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 46 NW PARISH OF HEATH SHIRE LANE 2/9 (East Side) Alcove and attached wall north west of Owlcotes Farmhouse GV II Alcove and wall about four yards in length. Late C16, the only surviving fragment from an important house by Robert Smythson. Coursed rubble sandstone and sandstone dressings. Rubblestone wall with rounded copings. The alcove forms a seat and has a moulded semi-circular arch, projecting impost band and pilasters with sunk panels. It must have formed part of the garden walls. Listing NGR: SK4416168089.' (1)
