The Gables, Nos. 4-5 The Square, Derby, a 17th or 18th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'THE SQUARE 1. 5170 Mickleover Nos 4 and 5 SK 33 SW 11/283 20.10.76. (The Gables) II GV 2. Probably C17 or C18 in origin. Red brick; 2 storeys and attic in gables; 4 windows, 2 C19 casements and 2 modern; 2 gables with C19 ornamental bargeboards; bands; 2 plain doorways, each with C19 gabled porches; tiles. Later 1-window bay on right- hand side which contains doorway to No 5. Nos 4 and 5 form a group with Nos 1 and 2 The Hollow. Listing NGR: SK3069134128.' (1)
