Stable block at Barton Hall, Barton Lane, Barton Blount, originally a late 19th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 23 S PARISH OF BARTON BLOUNT OFF BARTON LANE 3/4 (West Side) Stable block at Barton Hall GV II Stable block. Late C19 and 1925. Red brick with sandstone dressings. Plain tile roofs, and four brick stacks. Four sides around a courtyard. Main range on west side, late C19, remodelled in 1925 in Tudor Style. Symmetrical five bay west elevation, bays two and four projecting. Continuous stringcourse forming hoodmould to ground floor windows. Projecting bays have 4-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows with a major mullion; recessed bays have 3-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows. Ground floor windows all have a transom. North range, late C19, remodelled 1925 with a castellated clock tower of 1925 in the courtyard side. North elevation has to the ground floor, three doorways with 3-light mullioned windows over, three 3-light mullioned and transomed windows and a 6-light mullioned and transomed windows with a major mullion. All with hoodmoulds. Four 3-light and a single light window above. South elevation of north range has lean-to canopy over ground floor and 3-light windows above. Clock tower has panelled brickwork. East range is entirely of 1925 with Tudor carriage arch and 3-light mullioned windows. Projecting triangular end bays. Connecting wall along south side. Listing NGR: SK2083934726.' (1)
