National School, Penn Lane, Melbourne, built in 1822.
From the National Heritage List for England:
'SK 38/3925 PARISH OF MELBOURNE PENN LANE 6/150 (South Side) 18.2.71 National School GV II School, now workshop. 1822 with late C19 additions. Red brick, with stone dressings to the addition, and slate roof with brick coped gables, brick gable stack to west and a dentilled eaves band. Two storeys and five bays plus late C19 addition to south. Gabled east elevation has steps up to a central double chamfered pointed brick doorcase with two painted inner mouldings on iron shafts and a returned brick hoodmould. To either side there are pointed windows with brick returned hoods and Gothick traceried metal lights. Above the door is a plain stone plaque inscribed 'National School, erected 1822. Founded 1738' and above again there is another pointed window with similar glazing to centre. Pedimented gable over with small blocked central circular window. Recessed to south, the late C19 addition has segment headed glazing bar sashes. North elevation of the school facing Penn Lane, has five pointed windows with returned brick hoods and Gothick traceried metal lights to ground floor and five similar above.
