Full Description

Kirby Holt, walls, gate piers and railings, No. 22 Main Street, Repton, of early 19th century date. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 32 NW 3/76 PARISH OF REPTON MAIN STREET, MILTON (West Side) No 22 Kirby Holt and Attached Walls, Gate Piers and Railings GV II House, walls and railings. Early C19. Rendered brick, hipped Welsh slate roof with lateral brick stacks. Pilasters at the angles of the main elevation and moulded cornice. Two storeys. Symmetrical three bay east elevation has a central Tuscan Doric porch with moulded cornice. Stone step up to a half glazed door with rectangular overlight with margin light glazing. Flanked on each side by glazing bar sashes. Three similar windows above. Front garden enclosed by attached brick and stone wall with rusticated ashlar angle piers with pyramidal caps and a low wall with iron railings above linked by a gate in the centre. The interior has an open string stick baluster staircase with carved tread ends and wreathed handrail. Reeded door architraves. Several original chimneypieces. Listing NGR: SK3203926506.' (1)
