No. 84, 88 and 90 High Street, Melbourne, of early 18th century date. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 38/3925 6/118 18.2.71 PARISH OF MELBOURNE HIGH STREET (North Side) Nos 84, 88 and 90 (Formerly listed as 82 and 84 High Street) GV II Four houses, now three. Early C18 and late C18 with C19 and C20 alterations. Red brick with plain tile roofs, that to No 84 with red tiles, brick coped gables, large central brick ridge stack and moulded brick eaves cornice and those to Nos 88 and 90 with blue tiles, brick gable stack to east and brick ridge stack, plus sawtooth eaves bands. No 84 has two storeys plus garrets and two bays and No 88 and 90, attached to west, have three storeys, L-plan and three bays. No 84 has a segment headed doorcase with C20 glazed door to west and a segment headed 3-light small pane casement to east with an early C20 five-light bow window beyond. Above there are two cambered headed three-light windows with leaded lights. No 88 to west has two bays at right angles to each other. The eastern bay has a three-light segment headed window to east and a segment headed arch to west with angled wall behind and a plank door set in line with the other facade. Above there is a two-light horizontal sliding glazing bar sash below segment head and above again there is a similar flat headed two-light window. To east side of this top window is a Guardian fire insurance plaque. Western bay at right angles has a C20 opening to ground floor with similar windows above as those to eastern bay. No 90, attached to south, has a segment headed doorcase with C20 glazed door to south and a two-light segment headed horizontal sliding glazing bar sash to north. Above there is a similar window and above again a similar flat headed window. Listing NGR: SK3840925142.' (1)
