Pair of tombstones, St Michael's Churchyard, Church Lane, Sutton on the Hill, of early 18th century date. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 23 SW PARISH OF SUTTON ON THE HILL CHURCH LANE 3/53 (North Side) Pair of Tomb- stones 10 metres SE of south porch to St Michael's Church GV II Pair of tombstones. Early C18. Stone. Two thick stone slabs, plain to western faces but decorated to eastern faces with scrolled swan-neck pediments filled by acanthus leaves. Northern one has rusticated pilaster strips to side and partly legible inscription reading 'Here lyeth ye body of David ....'. Southern one has half shafts with Corinthian capitals to sides and has completely illegible inscription. Included for group value only. Listing NGR: SK2375134222.' (1)
