Dukes Barn, School Lane, Beeley, built in 1791.
From the National Heritage List for England:
'PARISH OF BEELEY SCHOOL LANE SK 26 NE 5/40 (North Side) 12.7.67 The Duke's Barn (formerly listed as Barns at Old Hall) GV II Barn and outbuildings under continuous roof, at the time of re-survey mostly being converted into a residential centre for the Royal School for the Deaf. Dated 1791. Coursed rubble gritstone with gritstone dressings and quoins. Cement tile roof. Coped gable to west with moulded kneelers and ball finial. South elevation from left to right. Three full height round arches with ashlar surrounds. The first two with C20 infil, the third opens through the building. In the spandrel a moulded datestone inscribed MDCCXCI. To the right a doorway with chamfered quoins and lintel and C20 doors. To the right again a doorway and a pair of doorways with lintels and quoins, now all with C20 windows. To the right again a C20 doorway, a C20 window and a similar doorway now made into a window. Projecting gabled range not of special interest. Beyond, a full height cart entrance with segmental arch and plank doors. The first floor has four irregularly placed windows, all with C20 casements.
