Full Description

Bridge House, Chatsworth Road, Edensor, a late 18th and early 19th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'PARISH OF EDENSOR CHATSWORTH ROAD SK 26 NE 5/95 (South Side) Bridge House GV II House. Late C18 and early C19. Coursed squared sandstone with ashlar dressings. Stone slate and Welsh slate roofs and coped gables with moulded kneelers. Two storeys. Irregular north elevation of four bays. First floor sill bands. The ground floor has a projecting single storey gatekeeper's lodge for the adjoining bridge at the south entrance to Chatsworth Park. Doorway with plain ashlar surround and a shallow canted bay window with glazing bar sashes. Return wall to the right has a single glazing bar sash. To the right are three glazing bar sashes in plain stone surrounds. Four similar windows above, the second from the left under a gable. The right hand bay is slightly taller. East elevation twin gabled with glazing bar sashes. Included for group value only. Listing NGR: SK2601868433.' (1)
