Nos. 2-5 Main Road, Sudbury, a late 18th century terrace.

Nos. 2,3,4 and 5, Main Road

Terrace of four cottages. Late C18. Built in two phases. Red brick with plain tile roof. Two brick gable stacks and five ridge stacks. Two storeys. Brick dentil eaves cornice. North elevation of ten bays divided into two symmetrical parts. Earlier part to right (Nos. 4 and 5) of six bays. Doorway to left to side passage, round-arched, with plank door. To the right a 3-light wooden casement window with leaded lights, under segment head. To the right again a doorway with segment head and plank door. To the right again two similar windows, a doorway with panelled door and overlight, and a similar window. To the right again a 2-light window with segment head, in place of a doorway. First floor has four 3-light casements under segment heads, and in the outer bays small lunette windows. Only four of the ground floor windows have headed lights. Left hand part (Nos. 2 & 3) has two segment headed doorways, one with a plank door and one with a panelled door. Each one is flanked on each side by 3-light wooden casement windows under segment heads. Four similar windows above.
