No. 16-17 Main Road, Sudbury, an early 18th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 13 SE PARISH OF SUDBURY MAIN ROAD 3/54 (South Side) Nos. 16 and 17 GV II Pair of cottages. Early C18. Red brick with plain tile roof and a brick ridge stack. Brick coped gable with plain kneelers to north. Single storey plus attics. First floor brick band and second floor band to gable end. East elevation of three bays. Off-centre doorway with moulded stone surround with segmental pediment. Panelled door. To the right a 2-light wooden casement window under segment head. To the left a larger 3-light window with transom, under segment head. To the left again a doorway with timber lintel and panelled door. Two 3-light gabled dormers above and to the left a single-light dormer. North gable end has a 3-light casement window under timber lintel to each floor. Further bay to right with a 2-light window to first floor. Listing NGR: SK1608132030.' (1)
