Barn west of Mansion House farmhouse, Lightwood Lane, Eckington, a late 17th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'PARISH OF ECKINGTON LIGHTWOOD LANE (Off) SK 38 SE 1/93 Barn to the west of Mansion House Farmhouse GV II Barn. late C17. Coursed rubble coal measures sandstone with partial quoining, plain gables and an asbestos sheeted roof. East elevation. Two storeys, five bays with central full height doorway beneath cambered re-used timber lintel. Inserted square opening to north of doorway and some ventilation slits. Small single storey projection to south end, with curved east end wall. The roof is carried on collar and tie beam trusses, with angle struts, and double purlins with a ridge purlin. Flat oak rafters. The roof appears to be assembled from re-used timbers, possibly reversed crucks. Listed for group value. Listing NGR: SK3788281952.' (1)
