Full Description

Food Vessel found circa 1970 in Blackwall Quarry, Kirk Ireton. It was smashed when clearing topsoil. One sherd is in the possesion of R Boam. (1) Authority 1 provides only a four figure grid ref. The third ed. OS map shows a quarry at the east end of Blackwall and the assumption has therefore been made that this is the site referred to. (2)
