Full Description

Waterlow was a small round barrow on the opposite side of the railway to Harborough Rocks and nearer Brassington [SK 2354] It was probably destroyed when the neighbouring moor was enclosed. An unaccompanied crouched skeleton was found at its centre. (1) Mrs F Radford of Brassington and Derbyshire Archaeology Society stated that she had made local enquiries and indicated the approximate site at SK 236 551. The area has now been quarried away. (2)
