SK 054 725: Green Lane, Horseshoe: [Area SK 054 725] Saxon iron horse shoe found 1929 in Green Lane, Buxton, at a depth of 2ft. 6 ins. Now in possession of F.A. Holmes, J.P., F.R.G.S. (1) Mr. Holmes died in 1946, he bequeathed his collection to Buxton Museum but the horseshoe could not be traced. (2)
