Full Description

SK 0664 7414: A free standing cross shaft (late medieval), See G.P's AO/66/12/5. (1) To the west of the church tower at Fairfield is the shaft of an old churchyard cross, possibly a preaching cross. In the later 19th century the shaft was used to support a sundial. This has been removed, although the holes can still be seen where the sundial was secured. (2)
