Full Description

A considerably weathered sherd of pottery of possible Bronze Age date was collected by R. Boam in or before 1977. (1) Romano-British pottery included a sherd of grey Derbyshire Ware, a grey-red Derbyshire Ware base, a sherd of grey sandy ware, and a grey rim with internal slip, of 2nd/3rd century date. Flint included a flake of a polished Langdale axe, a grey flint leaf arrowhead, three brown-grey flint flakes, and a grey chert blade core from which narrow blades had been struck. (2)
