Full Description
Old Hall, Foxholes Lane, Kniveton, a 17th and 18th century building.
'Post Office at Kniveton, C17 and C18 vernacular style but windows with moulded architraves and keyblocks.' (1)

'SK 25 SW PARISH OF KNIVETON FOXHOLES LANE 2/70 (East Side) Old Hall (now GV Post Office) II
House. C17 and C18. 'coursed rubble limestone with gritstone dressings. Tiled roof with brick gable end stack and stone coped gable with kneelers. L-plan with the angle filled in with mono pitched roof. Two-storeys. West front - double fronted. Stone quoins. Central doorway with stone doorcase with low pitched bracketed pediment. Six panelled door, raised and fielded. Rectangular light above. Flanked by glazing bar sashes with raised stone surrounds with keystones. Two similar windows above. South elevation with large projecting chimney stack. Two windows similar to those on the west front and to the left of the stack one blocked two light chamfered mullion window. One similar mullion window in the gable of the east facade.
