Type and Period (2)

Protected Status/Designation

  • None recorded

Full Description

Lead mining landscape in which traces of medieval ridge and furrow can be seen with linear earthen boundaries - possibly early post-medieval field boundaries enclosing the medieval fields - which are cut by the mining. Reviewed (2026), some areas of the surviving Medieval ridge and furrow is in relatively good condition considering the mining activity in the area. Multiple field boundaries, with some being listed on first edition OS maps, are still visible on both LiDAR (1) and aerial photography.
