Full Description

SK 301608. A socketed iron spearhead, 7" long, probably of late Saxon or early medieval date, was found by County Council workmen pulling down a stone wall at the rear of the Bus Station by the Lido in or before 1959. It is now in Derby Museum. (1) This find was sited to SK 29806035 by the County Surveyor's Office, Matlock. A new wall has been built on the original line. The spearhead is on show in Derby Museum. (2)
