Full Description

Site of a mill west of Ingleby Toft in an area of woodland. Information from R. Langley, Derby City Museum. (1) Two fish ponds are depicted and named on the OS map of 1887 at SK 3594 2651 and SK 3592 2658. (2) The ponds are not named on later OS maps and are shown as marshy areas with an earthwork dam along the north edge of what was originally the northernmost of the two ponds. (3-6) The ponds are somewhat schematically depicted on a map of Stanton dated 1608. (7)
