Full Description

A Mesolithic core was picked up by John Lomas on the hillside above Furnace Farm where soil had been removed during the building of the new reservoir. Now in Derby Museum. (1) Furnace Farm lay at the bottom of a valley now flooded. No reference to the find was seen in the copious and ill asssorted notes of the late Mr Lomas held by Derby Museum. (2)
