Full Description

SK 309380. The site of a medieval hollow way that was ploughed out in January 1983. It is probably a continuation of the east-west route through Mackworth superceded by the modern Ashbourne road, which originated as a turnpike road. Its relationship with the Roman road to Rocester is not clear in this area. (1)
