Full Description

A quartzite macehead with hour-glass perforation was found in 1945 (1) or 1956 (2) at the Mineral and Brickwork quarry south of Chellaston village (SK 385302) by M. Smith while collecting geological specimens. It was deposited in Derby Museum, 264.55. (1-2) Found in 1955 at approximately SK 38513031. (3) Listed as Mesolithic. (4) Macehead found in 1945 and given to Derby Museum in 1955. (5)
