Full Description

SK 315 476. 60 sherds of Derbyshire Ware were found associated with an area about 15m x 20m of black clay, probably representing a kiln. Two further areas of black clay were found lower down the slope to the north although little pottery was associated with them. (1) Fieldwalking during Amber Valley Survey by TPAT in 1980 yielded a possible kiln site at SK 315 477, a black clay area with some Derbyshire Ware. (2, 3)
