Full Description

'In the year 1363 (a) ... nothing had been received from the issues of the coal mine in Morley Park during the past year, …'. The coalmines at Morley Park are mentioned in 1372, and several times in the reign of Henry VI. An early allusion to the mine was made in 1322. (1-2) There are many old workings in Morley Park but it is impossible to identify the 14th century ones. (3)
