Full Description

SK 362463. A Roman pottery spindle whorl, in a red ware with white painted decoration, was found in ploughsoil at Commonwealth Field, Redhill Farm, Makeney in c. 1978. (1) The above grid reference is over 2km distant from Red Hill Farm, and may therefore be incorrect. For the time being, the findspot has been moved to a location closer to the Farm. (2)
