Type and Period (1)

Protected Status/Designation

  • None recorded

Full Description

SK 382437. Adjoining Park Brook is a mound about 60cm high, measuring about 18mx7m, overlain by ridge and furrow. This field was probably part of an area of arable within Horsley Park as suggested by the field names in the tithe award, 'Far Long Lawn', 'Long Lawn', 'Near Long Lawn'. The function of the earthwork is not clear but it may represent another small, possibly Medieval, mill. (1) Additional sources. (2-3)
