Full Description

SK 388452 Ryknield Street, Roman Road. Course of Ryknield Street Roman Road, through Horsley Woodhouse Parish. (1) Machine trenches for footings exposed subsoil clays and dense, smooth pebbles, possibly a trackway either connecting to or indicating Ryknield Street. If this is the case, then the projected route of the road may be incorrect. (2)
