Full Description

SK 30506534 Upper Moor, Earthwork. A large artificial bank, with a ditch on the north-east side. The ditch is 2m (6ft) wide and bank about 1.8m (5ft) high. The earthwork can be traced in the wood to the west of the B5057 and also to the east, where the radio station is positioned on the defaced bank. A section was cut through the bank by the Derwent Archaeological Society around 1972. No finds or dating evidence was forthcoming. The work has not yet been published. (1)
