Full Description

SK 327631 Eddlestow, Deserted Medieval Village. Aerial photograph with shadow marks showing a typical deserted medieval village at Eddlestow. (1-2) Probable outcrop of flaggy gritstone (sometimes used for roofing), spoil heaps and borrow-pits may be the result of quarrying for materials for Eddlestow Farm and surrounding stone walls. The site has previously been wrongly interpreted as a deserted medieval village. (3)
