Wellfield Cottage, Wellfield, Matlock Town, built in 1667. 'Wellfield Cottage. Date 1667, 2 storeys of coursed rubble. Gabled wing near to centre with old stone tiles.' (1) 'Vernacular building dated to 1667.' (2) From the National Heritage List for England: '1. WELLEFIELD 1390 MATLOCK Wellfield Cottage SK 36 SW 8/58 15.6.71. II 2. Dated 1667. Coursed stone rubble; 2 storeys. Plain elevation to road with lower advanced gabled wing near to centre; coped gabled ends, that on left-hand side with square-headed doorway, the lintel inscribed with initials and above date, and each with a single-light window in plain chamfered reveal. The south side has 2 3-light mullioned windows in chamfered reveals; plain eaves; slates with old stone tiles to gabled wing. Unoccupied and dilapidated at time of survey. Listing NGR: SK3033160798.'
