In Francis Bassano's 'Church Notes', made in about 1710, he mentions that in the churchyard at Old Brampton there is 'a handsome cross of two greeves (steps), and upon ye middle stone is a large sundial'. (1)
There is the base of a cross in the churchyard at Old Brampton. (2)
The cross base has been utilized as the base of a modern sundial at SK 3361 7188. It has been recut but some of the earlier tooling is still visible. See G.P's AO/65/211/5-6. (3)
