Full Description

SK 3855 7115 Swan Yard. Evidence of Roman occupation within the fort revealed by H. Lane and the Derwent Arch Soc in 1974. Occupation at Swan Yard suggested five phases within the Roman period. Phase I and II timber buildings with sill beams, Samian suggests a date circa A.D. 70-80 for Phase I. An overall occupation date of A.D. 70-130 has been suggested. (1-2)
