Full Description

Chapel-en-le-Frith Station appears on the 1st edition 25" OS map of c.1880. (1) This is a stone station building with an entrance canopy. It also has a stone-based water tank and goods shed. It is on the Midland Railway, Buxton to Manchester extension and was opened to passengers in 1867. It was closed in 1967. The station building is now used as a DIY shop [1984]. (2)
