Full Description

Fieldwalking by Ockbrook and Borrowash Historical Society in 1997/98 identified a concentration of Roman pottery in the south eastern corner of the field by the entrance track to Spondon Wood Farm. Sherds included 2 plain Samian, 8 Derbyshire Ware, 2 Grey Ware and 3 other. Half a quernstone had previously been found by the farmer in the same part of the field. In addition, 3 fire cracked pebbles were identified. (1)
