No. 25 Town Street (Pear Tree House), Sandiacre, an early 19th century building. 'Peartree House predates Erewash Canal and originally had land attached to it that stretched as far as the River Erewash. Another claim to local fame is that it was once the residence of one George Russell, the local veterinary surgeon.' (1) From the National Heritage List for England: 'PARISH OF SANDIACRE TOWN STREET SK 43 NE 2/112 (East Side) No 25 II House. Early C19 with later C19 addition. Red brick with painted stone dressings and plain tile roof with brick gable stacks. Two storeys plus garrets and three bays with two storey single bay addition to east. Central glazed door is covered by C20 glazed porch. To either side there are plain sashes under rusticated wedge lintels with double keystones. Above, three similar windows. Either gable wall has a segment headed horizontal sliding sash garret window. Late C19 addition to east has a plain doorcase with plank door and a plain sash. Listing NGR: SK4797236552.' (2)
