Milepost, Nottingham Road, Draycott and Church Wilne, an early 19th century structure. 'Cast-iron circular milepost on the A52 Derby-Nottingham Road. 'Derby 6, Nottingham 10'.' (1) SK 434348 Draycott House, Milepost. Cast iron bobbin-type milepost, made by J. Harrisons of Derby. On the Derby-Nottingham turnpike. (2-3) From the National Heritage List for England: 'PARISH OF DRAYCOTT & CHURCH WILNE NOTTINGHAM ROAD SK 43 SW 3/11 (North Side) Bobbin Milepost south of The Cottage II Milepost. Early C19. Cast iron. Bobbin type milepost, with narrow circular stem, cylindrical head above and moulded top, standing about 3 feet high. West side inscribed 'NOTTm/10/ MILES' and east side inscribed 'DERBY/6/MILES'. Listing NGR: SK4356934886.' (4)
