Full Description

SK 447315 Wilne Mills, Cotton Mill. A two-storey cotton mill with slate roof and north lights which was built in 1924 on the site of an earlier mill that had been destroyed by fire in 1917 [see SMR 19312]. From at least 1895 the spinners were Marcus Astle who continued until after 1945. The premises are now [in 1986] occupied by Messrs Haley & Weller Ltd, manufacturers of pyrotechnics. (1)
