Full Description

SK 0594 8190: Chinley, Buxworth and Brownside, Roman Road: Section of the Roman road from Buxton to Glossop. Site inspection at SK 0545 8270 following excavation for extension to building, & electricity trench to W. No evidence for Roman road. Given wet nature of valley to S, suggest route might follow modern line around stream at SK 0575 8265, continuing towards Bulhill (was Bolehill) Farm. (2)
