Full Description

SK 494 338 Nottingham Road, Nottingham Road Mills. A single storey, brick-built tenement lace factory having a pitched slated roof and constructed at right angles to Nottingham Road. Now [in c. 1986] F M Steed, furniture upholsterers. (1) A single-storey tenement factory of 19 standings was designed, and apparently owned, by J F Dodd. Divided into three sections, it was occupied by three different lace makers until the end of the 1920s. In the 1930s only one, Wilfred H Fox, remained and the mill was soon occupied by non-lace tenants. (2)
