Full Description

SK 429574 - old road now lost. (1) A beast causeway post-dating adjacent rig and furrow. (2) The exact location of this road is uncertain. No trackway or ridge and furrow is observable on aerial photographs at the location provided. Sanderson's map of Twenty Miles round Mansfield shows a road running west from South Normanton to SK4249 5698, then north to SK4221 5726, and on to Park Mill, with another 150m to the north; it is not certain that either equates with this 'beast causeway'. (3)
