Full Description

SK 44255845 Church Hill, Earthwork. A wide entrenchment following the contour around Church Hill, creating an enclosed hilltop plateau. There are traces of a stone wall with clay mortar exposed on the edge of the scarp at SK 44305843. The earthwork has been cut by the road to the south and infilled at the north end by tipping from Church Hill Farm gardens, etc. (1) Hart's 1970s survey of the earthworks may suggest a manor site.
