Full Description

A "Sestertius of Hadrian (much worn)"... found, now"...in the possession of the finder - Mr. Paynter, 1955 June". (1) Mr. Paynter indicated the precise find spot at SK 41676 50081. The Hadrian and two others, probably Roman but indecipherable, were found just below the ground surface of the garden, given to Mr. Kay and were never returned. Mr. Kay is now deceased and all his material has been presented to Derby Museum. (2)
