Full Description

North Winfield Furnace was supplied with charcoal from Bushy Park, and in May, 1662, 409 tons of raw iron were turned out. In May, 1666, 120 tons were sold at #5 3s. 4d. per ton. Ref. a letter book preserved among the MSS. at Renishaw kept between July, 1662, and August, 1666, by George Sitwell, of that place. (1) The site of this furnace was not established in field investigation in 1959. (2)
