Full Description

"Possible R.B. potsherds (part of an urn) in Sutton Springs Wood, needs investigating." (1) This find was made in the 1920s at an unknown site in Sutton Springs Wood. The information came from a former agent for the Duke of Devonshire's estates. Despite extensive enquiry no further information was gained. The exact find spot was not ascertained in field investigation. A large part of the wood is now being open-cast mined for coal. (2)
