Full Description

SK 4781 6710 Palterton, Possible Mesolithic Flint. A quantity of flint, including scrapers and blades, was recovered by L B Cooper on 14-Mar-1977 near the footpath as the field had been sown. Thought to be possibly Mesolithic in date. Area recorded as field-walked by Cooper. (1) The exact area fieldwalked is not known, so the record is mapped as the limit of the field on OS 6" 3rd edition; this is now part of a very large field. (2)
