Full Description

SK 444758. Shadow marks identified from an aerial photograph on either side of the Chesterfield Canal north of Norbriggs, Staveley. (1, 2) The majority, if not all, of the marks represent meanders from an earlier course of the River Doe Lea, which was probably straightened in this area when the Chesterfield Canal was constructed. (3)
