Full Description

'Local inhabitants of Bolsover, state that a few years ago, in digging for stones on the north side of the castle, a great many human bones were found, which must have been the relics of assailants of the castle.' (1) Another reference to human bones from 'a sharp engagement' states that they were found on the north side of the town. (2) No further information was gained in field investigation. (3)
